Overview

Microbiology is subject related with viz. Bacteriology, Immunology, Parasitology, Mycology, and Virology. The students are trained for understanding the features, growth character differentiation character and identification in laboratory with insight into the mechanism of disease production, symptomatology and epidemiology with available measures for prevention pertaining to various Bacteria, Viruses, Fungi and Parasite which are significant as human pathogens

Facilities

The department has got well equipped laboratories for diagnostic services, teaching and research activities. The department is providing diagnostic services in the field of Bacteriology, Serology, Parasitology in its clinical Microbiology wing.

It is also providing services for sterility surveillance for Operation Theaters and other sterile units of the Hospital by regularly sampling and isolating pathogens from these areas.
